m3e90board.com: BMW M3 E92 6-speed vs BMW M3 CSL

I've test driven a 2002 csl with smg paddles and even thought the new one is out.I want to buy the old one first for a collection or like 2 or three.

how can u be dissapointed with the new m3 i have one myself and it is the best car i have ever had.....before i had that m3 csl and the new m3 is so much better at evrything.

The csl overtakes th enew m3 anyways, not on a straight line but if u ask a real driver the new m3 is not up to his name...I drove it and i was very disappointed, the brakes fade very soon and the 6 transmission has a too long leverage.

the new m3 looking amazing...where?the old one has far more personality, the new one looks pretty much like a regular e92...the all new bmw philosophy behind design is not personal at all, M3 has to look aggressive...it does but not enough for me, i had a z4m but then i sold it.

To own one, ill take the CSL anyday

I have alot of the respect for both of these cars. the csl is legendary and the m3 v8 engine is amazing. Still think though that the csl is the best looking m3 yet.

idk, I think the new M3 is the best M3 ever, and the best looking. The old M3, even the CSL just looks booring. The lines lack emotion and make the car look old.

its all relevant to the time. I agree with you, but when the older m3 was released it was a beautiful car. I think the 8 series is still an amazing looking car as well. I do however think the new m3 looks amazing, thats why i have one ;)

Some cars look good because they are timeless, and some cars look good because they are great looking cars. All of this imo. Id say the older M3 is more of a timeless car, along with say an RS4, or even a Porsche. The M3 is more like a supra or 69' Camaro. It was great looking at the time and great looking always, but not because it has bland timeless styling.

i have an e92 and its stunning . but id rather loose wheight on the car than have so much luxury package . Buying lightweight parts for the m3 its too expensive so ive just put a g-power s-charger and it goes or better it feels ferrari fast . if id have 100k right now i would strip the m3 to 1400 kg . Im more a performance freak than horse power freak .
