Yes, they spend time putting hidden messages in songs just in case someone decides to play it in reverse. That makes a lot of sense.

What you do is take some backwards sounds that do sound like words, then insert your own words to make the sentence make sense.

For example:

I can find these words in a reversed song: I have cat snow, then what you do is insert words that don't even come close to what it sounds like to make the sentence make sense by making it say "I have a cat named snowball".

@killerpheonix97 Why would that make it SMART to put hidden messages in songs? If they know there will be people looking for the backwards message, why wouldn't they just put the message forwards? If they want to convey a message, then backmasking it is the least effective way of conveying that message, since there's a good chance no one is going to reverse the song to find it.

But there's no hidden messages in more than 99% of songs. People reverse them and find non-existent "hidden messages".
