Electronics Lessons on the Radio Shack Electronics Learning Lab PLEASE READ: This experimenters kit is battery operated only. The use of batteries is fundimental to the kits usage. It has several batteries in series, so that the kit can show the purpose of several different voltage levels (voltage drops) across each battery individually. A wall transformer alone can not provide the voltage levels needed for some of the experiments shown in the book. I hope this helps? .

It ended up being a + or - variable 3 ~ 16 volt DC (via a bridge rectifier) with the diodes, flashing circuit. That was in '95 and it was the Radio Shack Electronic Engineers Guide books that let me use the off-the-shelf components. I have it here; it's nice.
