Very interesting excerpt of the BBC evening continuity. I used to always wonder what was put on in London when all the other regions on BBC1 were away.The TV ark website said that London viewers did not get proper local news before the mid 1980s. I am always on the lookout for clips of the London BBC1 broadcasts pre 1985. On TVark is an example of a trailer for the South East news as part of 'Sixty Minutes' in 1983

The headlines (in this order) were: the Queen opens Royal Ascot as usual despite Saturday's bomb threat, around 1000 people from homes and businesses around Fleetwood Docks are evacuated after a bomb alert on the cargo ship Buffalo, and the SDP and the Liberals announce plans of an alliance.
