History of a malfunctioning PSU

Hello again
Today I encounter with the following problem
When I start the computer suddenly and with now warnings, it switches off.
After some attempts the computer starts normally.
During my work in the windows OS the computer switches off again without warnings

The system is NOT overclocked but when it restarts enters automatically in BIOS setup utility. There it informs me that the computer shut down cause of wrong settings for CPU (frequency etc).
First I thought that there was a problem with the mobo (ASUS P4PE) but this was not the case.
I had successfully updated the BIOS

The problem was coming from the power supply unit (PSU). When I changed it the problem was gone

my pc's problem is that when i shut it down, after a few minutes i will automatically switches on and say 'windows has recovered from unexpected shut down'

I don't think that this problem is coming form your PSU. If you had a problem the computer would shut down (or reset) by itself.

Μπράβο. Και εγώ πρόσφατα σουτάρισα ένα τροφοδοτικό, αυτό ήταν απο πολλά χρόνια χρήσης, και διακοπές ρεύματος. Έβγαζε ένα σφύριγμα, δεν άναβε αμέσως το PC, κρέμαγε, έκανε επανεκκινήσεις και άλλα. Άλλο σημείο που προκαλεί τέτοια φαινόμενα απο όσο διάβασα είναι και χαλασμένοι πυκνωτές στη μητρική κυρίως γύρω απο την CPU οι οποίοι χαλάνε απο υπερθέρμανση και τα χρόνια. Έτσι, καλό είναι να έχεις και καλή ψύκτρα στη CPU.

I've had this problem many times because I use my computer a lot. In the worst case: I was playing CS:S, and then, suddenly, I heard a *BOOM* coming from the PSU and my PC switrched off immediatelly.I even saw the blue glow from the electric arc. Luckily it didn't damage the motherboard.
