This famous Valentino segment that aired on "Mundo del Espectaculo" for Televisa was an experiment. Ratings were so high for my reports I wanted to learn if the reason was the news value of the material or the packaging of the information. Thus Valentino's tragic story was reborn.

Obviously the story was not new, Rudolph Valentino had been dead since 1926 but when the segment aired it created a phenomenon. Triggering a one-hour Televisa special on the misunderstood Italian superstar and a new assignment to produce a second report on his death 60 years before; he rests in a loaned crypt, still. One Valentino used to visit often.

"The film was a major success and would go on to define his image and legacy. Valentino tried to distance the character from a stereotypical portrayal of an Arab man. Asked if Lady Diana (his love interest) would have fallen for a 'savage' in real life Valentino replied, "People are not savages because they have dark skins. The Arabian civilization is one of the oldest in the world...the Arabs are dignified and keen brained." - Wikipedia.

In the 80's the Latino audience was hungry for innovative original programming, I provided and fully created the content - big ratings followed. Everything we did was original then, not adaptations from mainstream media.
