Bobby deserves to be in Monument Park with a retired number simply because he was the only player worth watching for years and years from 1969-1975, and one of the few broadcasters worth listening to afterwards.

it would not be the first time the yankees have retired the same number twice for two players and it will be done again #42 will be retired twice 1-for mo 2- jackie robinson

and # 8 is retired twice i think elston howard and yogi berra were both number 8

R.I.P. Bobby. He started and ended with the Yanks. But as a life long Cubs fan, those of us in CHI-Town will never forget Murcer for the contributions he made during the short time he was with the team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one of the first moves Steinbrenner made was to trade Murcer to the Giants for Bobby Bonds. I really hated George that day.

How much we will miss this man. An outstanding human being and a total class act. His soul is surely in a good place now.

    RIP Bobby Murcer

I never saw you play, but you did what John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman fail miserably at. Your commentary and knowledge of the game will truly be missed
