In part two I show what happens when the tape and cotton come off. I also share a new aftercare experiment submitted by May.

Here is the paste mixture May used-
Henna paste: Raj 2008 with lemon juice left for dye release 12 h after that cajeput and lavender essential oils and another 12 h dye release, in total 24 h and in the end a little amount of sugar. Paste was left on skin overnight and then removed with cloth.

Design 1 submitted by May is a design created by Kundan Patel, and design two was created by Bhavini.

  • hi my question is why is her so red? is it the Raj Henna that makes it that cherry red

  • @gonzodog13 After 24 hours raj is red, at 48 hours it is dark maroon.

  • If the suger particals cant fit through the bottle could you possibly melt the suger, then mix it with lemon juice?

  • @Anoosa1997 white table sugar will fit through about 90% of sprayers.

  • I was wondering if it was okay to do a huge spiral/swirl design on my arm and maybe going to my neck and back.

And, if so, how would i sleep with it without the huge amounts of tape.

And would I also have to keep my arm away from my body until the henna part comes off, as so not to stain my clothes.

    Thanks :)

  • @Appleeclipse You can put henna anywhere you want to (but I don't recommend eyes, nose, mouth, ears, or genitals). Henna stains the hands and feet best, you might see a stain on your upper arm and back, but it wont be as dark as if it were on your hand. You could sleep on your stomach, or have the design done early in the day, and wearing all day while awake. You can wrap the arm in toilet paper (once the henna is 50% dry) and then in wrap that in plastic wrap.

  • how do you make the henna? how do you make it last for a REALLY long time?

  • do you live in america????? yeh nd luvin the vids

  • Thanks so much! Learning a lot from your vids

  • @fatima23reed there are different types of henna. Some are red, brown, or black, even blueish. and it all depends on how long you leave it on. If you let it on longer, its going to be dark

  • i have been trying to get the cherry red color for years.. and every single time i use henna it never gets very dark.. at most an orangey red.. i don't want to give up because i love how it looks on others but very frustrated i can never get the same results

  • can we use vinegar...???

  • What henna powder have you used to make this henna?

  • I know you said the plastic wrap doesnt work, but I've been doing henna designs for about a good 3 years, and the plastic wrap does wonders for me. my Lemon sugar mix keeps the henna from sliding at all. It stays put even with teh plastic. And I find that the plastic keeps it warm and a bit moist, which helps the stain to get dark. I dont use plastic gloves tho, i think regular old shrink wrap is decent!
