  • bent bent bent! if the kicking leg is extended fully you cant bring your quad into play you are just using hip rotation and not getting full power plus you need a bent kicking leg to push off the opponents leg

  • Human Weapon - Karate Inside Leg Kick

On this video is an explanation of why the leg is stright on impact. Power comes from the snap at the end of the kick. Snap those punches AND SNAP THOSE KICKS. Just like a Bull whip the power is at the end on the very tip of the whip. If you let your knee go past your target you wont get the snap or full power of the kick. Also you must turn your hip over on impact. It takes awhile but once you get it down pat you will understand the difference. Practice!

  • not sure what you guys are talking about with the leg being straight, I was never taught like this. If I straightened my leg, my kick would be slow and I'd put pressure on my knee when I fully push my hip into it.......you guys dissing a world class fighter who's been there and done it.......oh you must be pro too I guess to disagree with this muay thai technique

  • That technique does not look side step proof. The more critical point is what you should/can do once your kick has connected. It is very difficult to continue with anything with the leg is that far stretched out.

The knee is dangerously unprotected. Speaking of protection, why does he drop his guard down to the waist level (the assistant looks like he's protecting his butt). Even a boxer knows to always guard his head.

They should have demonstrations with the sparring partner actually moving.

  • And what is this bullsh*t about dutch style kicking is with a bent leg.. i am from amsterdam, trust me.. When you hit the thigh the aim is to have your leg STRAIGHT.. Pls start training the actual sport before placing your advice on this matter

  • Lol offcourse you don't aim to hit someone with a bent leg.. You need a snap at the end.. That's why you aim to straighten the leg.. Blowing out your knee is a ridiculous argument, pls start training some thai boxing then come back to answer

  • @tapilaha bent! blow out the knee for the lose!
