A bill that would mandate that school start after Labor Day is not likely to become state law this session.
Senate Bill 150 passed the Indiana Senate earlier this month, but it didn't get a hearing Wednesday in a crucial house committee.
Backers pushed similar measures in the past mandating a post Labor Day school start and those bills didn't get out of committee.
This year, the bill sailed through the Indiana Senate, but it's getting nowhere in the Indiana House.
The sponsor of SB 150, Republican Senator Mike Delph, believes there's broad support for the measure among Hoosier parents.
