  • No, not most people, only some. Others ascribe Shakespeare's works to Marlowe. Fact is, Shakespeare wrote them.

  • Most people in scholarly circles now reject the conventional view that William Shakespeare of Stratford was the author of the Shakespeares plays but believe Edward de Vere of Oxford to be the true author. Like I said many legends also say that Francis Bacon might have been the actual author. There is a lot of controversy about who the shakespeare author actually was so how could you say you know for certain that the author used hemp.

  • Churcwarden pipes (disposable unbaked clay pipes) with remnants of cannabis in them, dating from Shakespeare's time, were unearthed in the garden of Shakespeare's cottage.

  • William was the third of eight children, although the two born before him had died. William was the first born son of Mary and John Shakespeare being one of eight brothers and sisters. The baptismal register of the Holy Trinity parish church, in Stratford, shows the following entry, in Latin, for April 26, 1564: Gulielmus Filius Johannes Shakespeare.

  • Yes we do. We know who his father and mother were, where they are buried, what his father's profession was. We know he had a sister, too, and who she married. They are all inscribed in parish registers.

  • We dont even know who skakespeare as it was just a pen name. Some people believe it may have been Francis Bacon and their are other people who it could have possibly been. My point is that there is no way to tell if shakespeare smoked hemp. I agree with your point, but your argument is flawed.

  • Shakespeare used to smoke hemp - Europe didn't need to wait for Napoleon's return from his campaign in Egypt before smoking cannabis. It was a staple in European pharmacology since a very, very long time ago.
