Sri Vishnu Sahasranama is the essence of all experience. This is the primal truth, the end of all journeys. This is beyond duality, beyond distinctions, beyond time, limitless and endless. This is the continuation and the origin. It is the final scripture, and the final end of all scriptures. It is freedom from fear and from all sorrows and pleasures.

When listening to this, lay your heart low in humility. Dissolve this (me) in this. Let this be those and those be this. Bow to the grounds below and the skies above. Let waves disappear and let the ocean stand still.

The day this (me) listens to this, let there be no fears and no worries. Death cannot approach when this is heard. Misfortunes fail. Time disappears.

  • hi there is it possible to repost the video for you with better microphone quality? there are times were the voice is disturbed and hard to understand...thank you. i listen to it almost everyday...at least i try to... :)

  • Hi

    In due course of time i will try to do that. However, please bear with the quality at the moment. It was a bug in the recording software that was used. However, for maximum benefit please try to chant along with, and you can look at text side by side too - that will help you become proficient in the names, and quality will not be much of an issue.

    Regards

  • Hi

    I have made another recording. Please see if you like it and choose which ever you want. Both recordings are the same text wise.

    Regards

  • If one listens to Parts 1 and 2 have they then heard all the thousand names? Is this then the daily practice of thousands of devotees? Do some listen and not recite? Karen Devaki

  • Yes, If you have listened to both Parts 1 and 2 - you have listened to all the 1000 Names.

    And yes listening is equally good - As Sri Bhishama Pitamah said at the conclusion:

    Who ever listens to these daily, or who ever himself praises the Lord with these names, never attains misfortune - not here and not any where else.

    (Yo Idam Shrunyat Nityam... = Who ever listens daily)

    (Ya Idam Shrunuyaat Nityam Yashchaapi Parikiirtayet .

    Naashubham Praapnuyaat Kimchit So.amutreha Cha Maanavah|| 2||)
