Footloose II: Ban Women From Media?

I am unable to condone or even understand a culture that thinks it's OK to cane and imprison a woman because she was raped. Only one example of the abysmal attitude Islamic hard liners often take. People do tend to adapt to whatever cultural situation they find themselves in (slavery, for example). Knowing the freedoms of the outside world, I have no desire to ever visit Saudi land. Wish we'd figure out how to do without their oil instead of paying $ to further this oppression.

They treat women as property.

What do they think the men are going to do? Beat off to the signature? On second thought in a culture as warped and repressed as this, they probably would.

Burkas are so old-fashioned.
I feel sorry for them. They should break free of their
inhibitions.
