Oh please quite your crying! Lease your state is going after unlicensed contractor. All you have to do if you're unlicensed is move to Florida. Here I watched one man get arrested after taking a whole street of citizens money for roofing. Seems the roofs he did do, he didn't use any underlayment (felt) shingle to OSB and no flashing for vents. When asked why he had licensed and insured on his truck. Would you hire a doctor, dentist, lawyer, engineer without proper credentials? No. All contractors and subs need to be licensed. You get what you pay for.

its understandable why contractors licenses are required, but it is no guarantee of good work, only that the "contractor" had enough money backing them, or had the right connections to get their license. I've worked on crews from California to New Hampshire where someone who has been in construction for 15 years doesn't know squat, yet they are or could become a contractor. the gov needs to wake up, and so do the people who pinch for every penny from honest talented workers
