Eastview High School Wind Ensemble's tribute to Leonard Bernstein. This piece is from a joint concert between EVHSWE and the Minnesota Winds which was meant to illustrate the relationship between jazz and classical music. The concert also featured a performance of "Rhapsody in Blue" by the MN Winds (Which I unfortunately don't have a video of.) This medley includes excerpts from:
West Side Story (intro)
Somewhere
Mambo
Cha Cha
Overture to "Candide"

  • What song is the last bit, 6:30 to the end, from?

  • I like the director's enthusiasm. Our director is often like that, but the size of a full grown male bear. Which is why we call him the bear. We are also about to preform this piece. And, I believe we are at least the caliber of this band. But, it's different when you are on the stage. So, congratulations East View High on a terrific stage performance and good luck in the future. 5/5

  • that director's got some crazy arms going on.

  • is this a high school? because we preformed this peice (in high school) and it was amazing. the acoustics in that room really suck! otherwise really good. whats with the dresses???

  • Apart from some squeaks, this was really great. I loooved the Mambo portion of the piece.
