This is an idea I found in the book called "Hello, Cupcake"
by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson

Monarch butterfly decoration make with candy melting wafers and icing.
I get my melting wafers at the local bulk food store, but they are also available at certain craft stores like MIchael's

  • can u use peer frosting and will it dry

btw loove ur cupcakes im gonna do tht for my sisters bday

  • @jramo3 I don't know what "peer" frosting is. You could try to use Royal icing on waxed paper, letting it dry and prying it off.

  • I love all your videos especially all the beautiful decorated cupcakes design.... what is the technique to melt candy chocolates? My chocolate turned out so hard and lumpty not even smooth like yours.

  • @12345gourmet I melt mine in the microwave at 50% power. I also add a bit of vegetable shortening to it to make it fluid

  • thank you

  • @yoyomax12 thank you :D ^_^

  • @LWR38 Excellent!

  • @seddiefan4ever Regular chocolate or white would be fine

  • @yoyomax12 Thanks! I made a few at home and took the rest to assemble at the other house. But, the ones I had fully assembled did survive the car ride and stayed in perfect condition!

  • can you use white chocolate or just normal chocolate? please reply, im making cupcakes for my cooking assignment

  • @LWR38 These are pretty stable once on the cupcake as long as you put on enough frosting to support the wing angle. The melting wafers are pretty solid in the wings and shouldn't crack or break on you

  • @LWR38 Maybe you should assemble them there, if possible.
