  • @nonovurbizniz,clueless you, when you stopped buying records at Trash what did you do?You became a mercenary scumbag groveling for money and security, some people find that abhorrent."why didn't they save up and buy the building?" Probably any funds were put right back in store stock, not exactly a gold mine, the record biz.

  • Trash was the best store in Fairfield County, no less the whole state of Connecticut. We had out own scene, and had many many great bands. How awesome was it to be able to buy a bands demo tape in the local section of the tapes? I can't judge mall music vs punk music, thats too much a personal taste - but Trash was so much more than just a place to get smelly ol records. The so much more part is what was/is lost when places like it go out of business and/or are forced out of their locations.

  • I really dug that place, but in fairness it was probably a fire hazard, and no doubt made EVERY other store surrounding them less appealing to the masses.

They should have done what Utopia did. Save ALL your money and buy land/build your own building... NO landlord to dealwith or neighbors... That or just go online. Although the look/feel/smell of Trash will never be re-created...

I'm 34 and went there TONS when I was 12-20.

  • God I miss that place. It's real slim pickin's if you want to find independent music in CT these days, Barring getting on a train to NYC.

  • @dimebagdave77 have you re-opened?

  • some people are just born A**holes.better luck with your landlord next time! store looked interesting.

  • im english and its the same over here . being 47 iv seen a lot of good record shops go down, its heartbreaking cos you meet some realy good people in these places . ha ha as for rude employees [which i aint met that many] playem at their own game .this place looked a great place to go its a sad tale ,a fucking printers .

  • this place kicked ass

  • creepy i was referring to independent record store employees that are rude and elitist. i was not referring in anyway to your friend. your friend is i am safe to assume a nice guy who gives good service but whenever i go into an independant record store in dublin, ireland, i get stupid shit from ignorant pricks who think they know more and have better taste.

  • 5:34 JOHN SEX BOMB! That dude is such a cool guy.
