Voter ID is Voter Suppression

Republicans in the NC Legislature have proposed a new Voter ID law that will instantly disenfranchise nearly 1 million voters without current photo identification. Democratic Party Chairman David Parker and Civil Rights pioneer Dr. Virginia K Newell urge voters to join efforts to stop the Voter ID Bill.

Voter ID is enforced everywhere on earth except where American leftists complain about it.

Having lived in East Germany, and actually know something of communism. I'm not sure how you think you know anything about life under Marxist-Leninism. It is leftist oppression, as is most oppression. It is also the case that Hitler was a leftist. Waving it as a wand makes you look silly.

Your entire argument is specious. In MODERN Germany, you need a voter ID card which bears a photo. Likewise in "enlightened" western Europe, photo ID is req'd.

In fact, there are a number of states where leftists do NOT complain about this. Blue states like CT where one hears nary a peep about disenfranchisement, Hitlerian oppression, accomodating illiteracy, civic negligence, or generalized stupidity in the population, because lefties don't need to steal votes in Connecticut to win.

Some Republicans never cease to amaze us with these tactics. They'll stop at nothing to try to win an election. Too bad they don't use this energy to solve real problem facing our nation and the world, because if they did the we'd all see eye to eye more.

Why in the world would we expect to see some ID in order to vote for a democrat? Dead people have been voting for democrat candidates for years and its not fair to ask them to make a stop at the DMV to get a photo ID on their way from the grave to the polling place.

@nineof12 Not everyone has a state I.D. It's ridiculous to make people go get another I.D. just to go vote. They should be able to use their drivers license, military I.D., social security number, birth certificate, State I.D. (if they have one), or school I.D. if they're a High School senior or college student. The state doesn't have the right to make people get a certain type of I.D. just to vote; that's a waste of time.

Thank god there are more Democrats than Republicans across the board in N.C. and even if it passes governor Perdue will veto it. Voter I.D.'s are a Nazi style voter tactic.
