Dale Harris plays the famous Introduction & Variations On A Theme By Mozart (From The Magic Flute) by Fernando Sor. Played on a Godin Grand Concert Electric-Classical at the RamJam (Kingston, Surrey UK) on 15-Sept-07. The first few bars are missing due to the cam operative being asleep! Apologies! For those interested in such things, the Mozart melody is also known as "O Cara Armonia".

  • just wondering what kind of amplification you used. I have been searching for a good way to amplify the classical guitar. thanks.

  • John McLaughlin uses a fishman sbt transducer plus an omni condenser mic. John Williams now uses the guts of an AKG 414 fitted inside his guitar + an under saddle transducer strip. I either use a condenser mic direct to a PA system, or I'll use the Godin guitar into the PA or sometimes into a combo. Hope this helps.

  • hey man nice work! i came across you becaue we have the exact same name, nd its not exactly a common combination! dale harris

  • Just don't steal my identity! Google must get confused, there are a fair few of us. Maybe I'm one of the few in the U.K. though? You're not the Aussie Dale Harris are you? Then there's a US poet, and a general in the US military.

All the best to you Dale,

    DH

  • Is that a steal string guitar? You don't hold it in the classical fashion which would seem to indicate you haven't had formal classical training but, you play with a wonderful sensitivity towards the music and good finger technique to my ears. Thanks for posting.

  • Hi tnmtemerity, the guitar is a classical but its not balanced the same as a conventional classical so doesn't sit well in classical position - I usually use a footrest in orthadox position. I've had my fair share of classical training although I often wonder what good it has done though! Thanks for your comments
