I love 'The Eddy Duchin Story' because at a very early age of 4 I was introduced to Ty by my Dad. My Dad has the album from this movie musical. One day Dad said, lets get out the Spring music. So I go to our front hall closet. I begin taking one by one out, of course Dad was there to supervise me. We then came across this Album with Tyrone Power & Kim Novak on the front cover. I said Dad who is this on the cover? It was then explained. I asked if we could play the album? The rest is history!

Powers was one of the great actors and this movie was a fine movie. Though it is recorded that Peter Duchin stated that hollywood took to many liberties wih the facts of the movie. But had nothing to do with the acting or the beautiful music.

Tyrone Power's actor father Tyrone P. can be seen in his first and last movie, The Big Trail on Youtube. He played the bull whacker, Red Flack. John Wayne is in this movie. Tyrone died of a heart attack in his 17 year old son's arms in 1931.

This movie I saw as a child, I loved it and always makes me mourn,, besides that reminds me of my sister (RIP), and she took me to see her, also had the long play, and I always remember,, one day buy it, but, give one, he never returned my thanks to youtube, I remember some nice scenes as the final, thanks for uploading,, affection excuse my English,, pero I'm Chilean
This movie is one of my faves..Of course Ty can npt play! But he can fence and punch bad guys..For pianists who saw the movie, the sound of the bass notes when the CHOPSTICK started became 1 octave lower...And the kid with no piano lesson was able to play 1 step higher when Ty transposed the key 1 step higher..It is OK!..I still love the movie because of the music, the story and of Tyrone Power...

Although pianist Carmen Cavallaro played the music in the film, Tyrone spent weeks learning the fingering so that he could be photographed "playing" the piano. He learned 20 of Duchin's numbers for the film. Now this is dedication Ty worked so hard at his craft, But no one noticed enough to give him the awards he was due.

We all love a good movie and back in the old days they new how to make them. This is a great film with one of the magical scenes from it, based on a true story and not a swear word in sight( or sound). Why can't they make films the way they use to?

Yes you are so right . The caliber of movies today leave so much to be desired. Actors like Tyrone live forever, dont think many of todays actors will be remembered 50 years after their deaths.
Take care
