No, I hear they plan to contract with a company (possibly Ansaldobreda if negotiations don't break down over current problems with new Gold Line P2550s) to build new ones to be put on the Blue Line, but it's too early to tell right now. It could go either way. We should know by the time the Expo Line is halfway built. :)

LACMTA plans to retire these 1989-1990Sumitomo-Nippon Sharyo P865 since they will be replaced by new trains(Ansaldobreda P2550) ,well the Siemens P2000 #200 - 250 and 301-302 cars would tranfer to the Metro Blue Line to take their place.

Although I do know a few Blue Line operators, I was NOT in the cab. That particular night, all blue line operators were instructed to turn off the AC between Willow and Anaheim Street. i got lucky... because they rarely turn off the HVAC :-)
