Okay, this is almost embarrasingly simple, but I had never used this kind of RGB strip before. They are very cool and easy to work with. Check out Lady Ada's tutorial at http://www.ladyada.net/products/rgbledstrip/ for details. I'll be using this kind of LED strip for craft and lighting projects in the future, I'm sure.
