  • In the past children took care of their aging parents. Most aging parents now live in nursing homes but where will the money come from when social security dries up?

    In terms of military might is population even important anymore?

  • When it comes to population issues this man is wrong.

    Why is it a demerit to have an older population?

    I can see some clear benefits.

    For example, if present trends in Japan continue(and "present trends" never ever continue) then a higher proportion of the population will possess higher skill levels.

    Children, in the short run, are nothing but black holes-sucking up money, time and patience.

    Less children mean more investment for the future - something the Japanese have excelled at.
