  • @bsumiko Your statement kind of contradicts itself a little as the traps are a scapula retractor and not protracter.

Rounded shoulders are easily fixed with a bit of lower trap/rhomboid work so it's not a crazy imbalance anyways. As far as the apparent "overdevelopment" of the traps goes... that's really a nonsense statement as strong traps are essential in strength/power sports. Being that high trap development doesn't place the shoulder in any greater risk of injury I fail to see the downside

  • @bsumiko your observation is probably justified, but your reasoning for it "her unbalanced physical development is a perfect example of what can happen when you you solely focus on one sport." is completely ludicrous! Just look at all other top level OLs, probably some of the most well balanced and symetrical athletes in the world!

  • Thank you for this great video! Beautiful recording - great audio. Just one observation. Did anyone notice the posture of that female lifter that was onstage with Mr. Kono? She looked to have severe protracted scapula and over-development of the traps. Her shoulders were so rounded forward. I'm sure she is a great, great lifter, and I really respect olympic lifters; however, her unbalanced physical development is a perfect example of what can happen when you you solely focus on one sport.
