Have you played it, or are you just presuming? If you have played it, could you be a little more descriptive of why it sucks? If you're just presuming, well, I am skeptical too, but I'm at least going to give it a fair look before I count it out. ::shrug::

if you are willing to put in house rules for hp gain of tanks and different bonuses for other classes (such as the cleric can make a heal check to use extra healing surges and a healing surge that a cleric grants can get knocked out characters - 0 hp back to 1 hp) it can overcome the fact that it is overbalanced, but that is better then the underbalanced other versions.
