  • i use to work at the prison and imates would make these from there head phone magnets and paper. they wernt near as big, about 4 inch speakers. sounded alright for there cells..

  • @ethanstephenson yes :) even the most basic hand-made conventional loudspeaker is good enough for recognizing speech, music, etc. :)

  • thats cool what was that formula or equation that you used and what wire did you use and how strong were those two magnets and where did you get them

  • @bantagclantag for technical info, see this video watch?v=CNdnANc4Ry8 the formulae are very simple: c = 2 * pi * r l = c * n * k h = n * d M = l * m Rdc = l * ro where c - circumference of the spool pi = 3.14 r - radius of the spool l - length of wire n - number of turns per layer k - number of layers h - height of coil d - diameter of wire M - mass of coil m - wire mass per unit of length Rdc - direct current resistance of wire ro - wire resistance per unit of length (taken from a datasheet)
  • @svinec sorry for the bad formatting, it seems that new lines are not supported here :)

  • nice but how big is the magnet? i can't even see a freaking magnet on that thing! is it like a nano meter across or something?? WHERE THE HECK IS IT!!!!

  • @realflow100 at the very first picture of the video, is the naked basket of the speaker without the cone and the surround. at the center of the basket you can see a black cylinder. that's the magnet. it's actually two stacked magnets.

  • i did it with 2 parallel 8 ohm coils... thats 4 ohms... xD and i found laying arround a neyodium magnet... all i need is stronger materials to hold that shit xD
