Parents with school-going children may have to dig deeper into their pockets if a bill to increase value added tax on textbook publication is passed. The 2001 vat bill is set to increase the price of textbooks by a whooping 50% .the bill proposes to remove printed books from the vat zero rated goods category to become taxable at 16%.   • This is effing ridiculous!! The effects of the Kibaki admin continue to hurt wananchi's pockets. His admin will be remembered for all its blunders and inefficiencies. The positives like the new constitution will be footnotes when history judges him.

  • This gov under Uhuru is increasing taxes at a time when Kenyans are feeling the MOST pain under inflation and a falling shilling.
