[Original postdate: June 3, 2011] Cask ale at home! Mike and Jake take what they learned about cask-conditioning ales from Damian McConn (Summit Brewing Company) and use it to make their own cask version of a Oatmeal Stout. Join the guys as they learn the steps to a great firkinfied homebrew, get jiggy with double espresso shots, and drink the finished cask ale with some work buddies. You'll find there's None More Cask.

  • I recently made, and currently have on tap, a breakfast stout that I dry-coffeed. I used enough coffee for the five gallon batch, 1lb, to give me a significant buzz. Along with the 8% abv, a scoop of vanilla ice cream goes nicely on a hot and muggy summer afternoon.

  • Can you also do a mini cask using one of those 5L mini kegs?

Look forward to seeing you guys in SD...planning on going to the Alesmith Barrel Aged Speedway release on Wednesday?

  • I realized from this video how little I know about cask terminology...
