The medieval hilltop town of Sighisoara is world famous for its well-preserved historic architecture and also for being the birthplace of Vlad Tepes. These photos were personally taken by me during our trip to Romania in May, 2006.

  • Please give me the name of this music so I can download it somewhere. Please and thank you.

  • @isabelzavoranu, the music used in this video is the Romanian Rhapsody Number 2, by George Enescu. It should be easy to find, both on CD and as a download.

  • who ever owns this video could you please tell me there is a picture of a house and some vines on a trelis with some laundry hanging on the fence,Do you remember where that is in Sighisoara I am going there in april and that is one of the most beautiful subjects of a picture I have seen in along time.

  • @TheAuntieDD Did you take the pictures? If it is you, could you tell me please what hotel did you stay in? Was it nice? We are thinking about visiting Sighisoara this summer, and we could use some advice. Thank you :)

  • @loredinusa... TheAuntieDD did not "take the pictures" because she has not been there yet :D

I recommend the Hotel Sighisoara or the Casa cu Cerb Hotel, which is where I stayed when I visited Sighisoara and made this video.

  • @TheAuntieDD... The house at 05:36 is also shown at 06:12 and is visible in the distance at 06:06. I looked closely at all my photos, and now I can offer directions to that house.

Start at the Vlad Tepes Birth House, which faces the little plaza and the Monastery Church. Go around the side of the Vlad Tepes House and walk towards the hill... midway up this street, the house with the nice courtyard will be on your right.

  • Some people here said Romanians were enemies of the Saxons. I disagree. My dad was a Saxon from Bistrita, & I always heard of friendship & military cooperation between the two. It's sad that so many people are using these Romanian videos to insult & abuse people. Things weren't always perfect, but the Saxons & Romanians have always been friends, & always will be. Some day I hope to visit my father's beloved homeland. Greetings to Romanians from a Canadian half-Saxon!

  • the music is Romanian Rapsody by George Enescu

I want to know more about him, but it's hard to find out much...

I remember hearing that it was a green house on the street pictured at 3:23 and also seen at 8:28 (I'm not sure, but I think something said it used to be called Marketplace...?)
