Saturn boasts one of the solar system's most geometrical features: a giant hexagon encircling its north pole. Though not as famous as Jupiters Great Red Spot, Saturn's Hexagon is equally mysterious. Now researchers have recreated this formation in the lab using little more than water and a spinning table—an important first step, experts say, in finally deciphering this cosmic mystery.

@richd506 pure ignorance. Man is incapable of so much, infact we know so little about everything yet we formulate hypothesis that strive to answer anything. Only 10% of our own seas have been mapped yet here we are striving for a new frontier trying to push the limits on what we can do... Science still doesn't have a straightforward answer why hiccups occur or why we even yawn -- yet many believe we developed from some single celled organisms to the hyper complex beings we are today... lol

The great beauty of such mysteries in nature isn't that there's a supernatural explananation for them but that there isn't.

@Phil6590 whaaat? How can you say that? It's fucking phenomenal that this is naturally occuring!

very nice experiment, you see this kind of phenomena in fluid dynamics all the time, sequential vortex swirls as i like to call them in a way it reminds me of an engine, the individual swirls around the hex powering it like a flywheel and keeping whatever this hex swirl is powering moving.. i think understanding how this hex swirl works and what role it plays within the planet will help us understand this and other planets "mysteries"

In order to understand the secret behind the hexagonal shape in nature search youtube for "The Sign in 19: Structure of Energy" by Dr. Zaid.
