Humans are incredible long distance runners but running shoes are a relatively new addition to the running scene. Humans evolved to run barefoot and recent work has demonstrated that we run very differently in shoes or bare feet. By studying how we move under different conditions, evolutionary anthropologists can learn how and why injuries occur and potentially how to avoid them. Dr. Daniel Schmitt, an evolutionary anthropologist at Duke University talked about his work in this area.

  • If running and upright walking is so stressfull and injury prone, then we wouldn't have evolved into primarily upright runners and walkers.

We think the problem isn't that running and walking are stresfull but that our modern lifestyles have made us primarily inactive. Don't get us wrong, running is stressfull but not stressfull enough to always cause injury when done correctly.

Anyways, great video, but just disagree with you on a few points.

  • young people nowadays need motivation and a reason for their lives, like having interest in the way thinks work in nature, but that use to be boring compared to watch violent movies or playstation.very good video.
