As per request here is another great Mandrake Memorial track. This comes off their 2nd LP Medium. The band changed their style up a bit for their 2nd LP, a little bit more of the progressive side, but still had that great feel that came off of their debut LP. Ya I still can't figure why The Nazz are considered the best Philly 60's band.

  • @richrollison1 the mandrake memorial did a free concert at FDU and gave everybody a free copy of their album too bad i missed the one in vorhees

  • Craig of course also played sitar....

  • @spacepatrolman He later played with Linda Cohen...a Philly siger/songwroter/guitar player. I booked a '72 version of Mandrake into a coffeehouse in Vorhees,NJ.Just randy Monaco from the original

  • @YusakuJon3 Craig anderton is from new jersey went to the same high school as nelson riddle but not at the same time wrote articles on electronic music

  • @bellsys1 Didn't know about the Philly connection. Back in the mid- to late '80s, WMMR was playing a lot of American Dream ("I Ain't Searchin'", mostly) on its Psychedelic Supper program, and I followed that until it was dropped. I had the album.

Mandrake Memorial appears to be more adventurous than the Dream and Nazz ever got. They stayed strongly in the psych camp while the others either rejoined society or turned into pop stars.

; saludos

  • @maida1982a - Yes, American Dream was another great Philadelphia-area band. The cuts played most often from the album were I Ain't Searchin' and Frankford El. They released a single with I Ain't Searchin' on the A side and Goodnews on the B side. Both Mandrake Memorial and American Dream really deserved a lot more attention than they got.

  • I'm really happy for you @clashboy1977 and Imma let you finish, but Kanye West is the most impertinent kudo-usurper of ALL TIME.

  • thanks for all the uploads, love the channel. but Nazz (no the just Nazz) are much betetr than these guys in my opinion.

    Rundgren is a genius!
