ClimbingLife Guides owner Eli Helmuth and Boulder local Eric Sparks make a one-day ascent and descent of the Lambslide Couloir, situated on the east face of Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
This 2,000' long, always snow or ice covered chute, is located between 12k and 13k on the steep east face of Longs Peak, RMNP's highest mountain.
The Lambslide Couloir is often used as an approach climb for such classic mountaineering routes on Longs Peak as 'Kieners' and 'Notch Coulior'. In the late summer and autumn it can be a sheet of ice and in the winter contain HIGH avalanche hazard.
