I was surprised not to find this beautiful song here on YouTube, so thought to upload it myself! :)
The English version is mine - I did not want to translate the French lyrics word for word, but instead tried to come up with something that can (almost) be sung with the melody... Since neither language is my native one, please let me know if you find any mistakes!

Beautifully done! Aznavour is my favourite French artist of all times this particular song being one of my forever favourites. You did well to open it up to a wider audience and your translation is a very skillful endeavour especially for a nonnative speaker of either French or English. I wonder what your native language is and whether you try your hand at poetry. Looking forward to some more of your attempts.

Me too want to congratulate you, littledwarfsandra (are you really that small?!), with your efforts. I read the communication with the other Romenian person. We Belgian people are also good in foreign languages.
