  • When he played for us he was my favourite player, and many peoples too. When he left, i hated him with a passion for doing that, but then I found out, we needed the £6m and no other club was offering the money, it was swap deals and long payment deals, and I realised he moved to man utd to help out Leeds and it wasnt his decision he went there purely to help us out because of the debt we had, now i have regained all respect for him, and i hope everyone realises why he did what he did, MOT.

  • "what would you do if you weren't a footballer"? Collect cash while warming seats in Newcastle

  • @SteSorroLFC HA HA FKN HA...if ignorance is bliss, then you are one of the most blissful people alive... This rivalry is about two groups of people that have historically hated one another for centuries, and football is another way of expressing it... I would hate to be a MANUre supporter, regardless.... just about everyone that knows nothing about football go for MANUre... so they are often as ignorant as you seem to be.

Leeds supporters are passionate and loyal... regardless

  • @pinkfloyd870 Exactly the same! When he did play for us he played with passion, I saw nothing like that at Man Utd, and like you say, he did it for Leeds. Legend in my eyes

  • @SteSorroLFC and by the way...The Red Rose of Lancaster (a rose gules) is the county flower of Lancashire.... not London...Idiot... you should check your facts before you make stupid guesses.

  • @lewislufc15 I am a big Leeds fan... and what Alan Smith did saved us from possible financial oblivion... I would love him to come back and play for us again... his heart is not in question, he did it for Leeds.

  • that is why the rivalry is deeper than football, it goes to the essense of the cultural history of the region.

  • The Wars of the Roses were a series of dynastic civil wars for the throne of England fought between supporters of two rival branches of the royal House of Plantagenet: the houses of Lancaster and York (whose heraldic symbols were the "red" and the "white" rose, respectively). They were fought in several sporadic episodes between 1455 and 1485, although there was related fighting both before and after this period. The final victory went to a relatively remote Lancastrian claimant, Henry Tudor,
