I'm not quite sure how I feel about conflating Katrina and AIDS in Washington, DC. Not because I don't think both events are tragedies, but because they are profoundly different challenges. Of course, both are tied to the same social determinants of health, but I wonder if the comparison will actually help people get to that level of awareness about poverty, crime, race, segregation, etc.
