@Smeckydane hence: their presence killed them, either with weapons, viruses, slavery... and then local wars, independance wars...and actual problems caused by colonial systems. It was not a discovery, not a conquest either... it was a genocide. The numbers are above hitler's... so could they do it any "better" is not the question...

@fabri8686 Technically, it was the deiseases which were made by the european that killed the most of all the indians in the New World. Civil wars and wars between empires over there did help too.
