On that Very day My husband and I got married and we just finished out formal wedding photos in the park just as the thunder storm was coming in. It his with a vengeance during our reception and the power was knocked out.... no one stayed around and I was really upset.... we are thinking of renewing our vows in 5 years and doing a reception do over :)

@Esponjin if you want T-storms dont go to Vancouver. We only get super storms like that once every 9-10 years. other than that we get 5-10 storms that last only 10 mins and have 1-5 lightning strikes. not worth it :( you see more storms if you live east of Maple Ridge.

its a little funny to see how vancouverites react to small weather. I never realized before I came here that this region rarely has thunder storms. If any of you were to witness a normal lightening storm in Southern Ont.,,you most likely would think it was the end of the world...lol. They have hundreds of violent storms per year, and actually have a "tornado alley" region.

@Esponjin nope, thunderstorms are quite rare occurances. statistics say that on average here in vancouver we see thunder and lightning 1 to 2 times a year! july of 2009 was an exception, of course. it was pretty spectacular actually, the entire night sky literally turned red-orange.

I'm from Vancouver. I should've stayed there to see it. But I live in Toronto, it was worse here.

Pretty cool! You guys don't get them very often out there so it must almost be a festive event!!! Great video! I love filming storms, it's borderline reckless for sure...but then again that's what makes it fun.
