  • he may not cut the mustard, but judging by those dance moves,I'm pretty sure he cut the cheese It's a shame, people don't just have fun anymore

  • @whitt702 Apparently a family member has started to re-create these guitars.

  • what kind of guitar is bill playing?

  • @jaimev21 That guitar is a "Microfrets" made in Frederick MD. They were only in business about 5 years between 1970 and 1975, and went out of busines after the owner died. They went fast for awhile, and of course I bought one when I was living in Cumberland MD. A friend of mine and a great guitar picker, Boogie Bill Boggs worked at the factory and often demonstrated the Microfrets at various guitar shows.

  • @vegas713 Is this Cliff Carlisles little brother??????

  • me too!!!

  • I used to watch this show when I was young. My favorite part was the instrumentals. I had no idea at the time that I was listening to Buck Trent. Even though I didn't know his name, to me, he was the star of the show. This is a great video by Bill Carlisle made even better, by the guitar licks. Go Buck!

  • wat kind of guitar is he playing?

  • I' cruisin' thru all these old country music shows, which are absolutely amazing, but I'm wonderin' where these guys are getting all the weird, unidentifiable guitars.

For instance, what is that green contraption he's playin' there. Doesn't look like anything I've seen before and I basically spend all my time looking at guitars?

    Any body know?

Did the South have it's own special supplier of guitars in the fifties and sixties?

  • He sure could jump! Late in the 1960s it was my privilege to be in the broadcast booth when he sang live on The Mountain Dew Country Music Review aired over WJRZ in the New York Metropolitan (Countrypolitan) Area. Before the broadcast Bill was kind enough to sign a fan magazine photograph showing him jumping. That became part of the ad lib intro by host Bob Lockwood.
