While the "In My Lifetime" mix took me a couple of weeks to do, it was time consuming more than it was difficult. Conceptually, it was very structured and easy to lay out. This "Shirley's Son" mix required a lot less time, but I was afraid that it would end up being somewhat incoherent.

As of right now, I can't tell if it's disjointed or not because I've been staring at it for too long and I've watched it too many times. The responses so far from people have been encouraging, though. Thanks for all the kind words.

But I do feel that the music piece is too short. Edelman's "To The Stars" (from the 1996 film Dragonheart) builds to the crescendo that I want and sets the tone that I'm looking for, but it ends too quickly. I couldn't include a lot of the clips that I wanted to. Every time I make a mix, the music often dictates what I can and can't do. This is like the opposite of scoring a film, where usually the music is constructed around the footage. In my case, I have to construct the footage around the music. And that's tougher to do if I also have to contend with a chronology.)

You definitely make some of the best videos on youtube. For that to be about KG and not feature a single highlight, it carries as much emotion and power than any other tribute to KG I've seen. Keep up the great work

Thanks a lot. I wasn't sure if the resulting product would feel disjointed. I meant for the whole thing to run a reverse chronology, but what ended up happening -- and this happens in nearly all my mixes -- was that I had to construct the sequences around the music.

The music usually ends up dictating what I can and can't do, what goes where, and how the temp goes. And since there's also a chronology at work here, I was hoping I wouldn't end up with something incoherent.

I didn't really grasp the point of this. It was really nice. I guess I thought it would show KG as he grows from a kid just entering the league, maturing, the disappointment of his last years with the wolves, and finally the triumph of winning the championship. Idk, great vid all the same.
