Pemberton Festival 2008 garbage

After all the campers have left on Monday, the festival grounds are littered with tents, sleeping bags, chairs, coolers and food that people have simply abandoned. What a powerful statement of how truly wasteful the North American lifestyle is. I have never seen anything like it. There are a few resourceful folks reclaiming the perfectly good tents and supplies.

I just want to clarify that I think the "scavengers" (and I should probably say "reclaimers" instead of "scavengers") are doing a valuable public service by keeping perfectly good stuff from going to the landfill. We had a great time at the festival, and scored a few things for ourselves from the mess left behind on Monday afternoon, too. I'm entirely sure it was way easier to leave (cheap) camping stuff behind than try to cart it back by unreliable shuttle service ... that's the sad part.

i live here and i saw them clean up everything this was after like five days ofcleaning the first days was way way way worse.

you're the one who needs a life. it's the organizer's fault for not having adequate and proper areas set up for garbage and recycling. anyways do you know how much business was brought to pemberton that weekend because of us? more than that town has seen in the last year, so the least those chugs can do for us is pick up our shit. learn to spell "adcomamps", you fucking tree-hugging loser :)
