It's a little known fact that my first car I ever owned was a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica. She had the 3.1L V6 engine. Red color. But at the time, I bought the car off my parents for 200 dollars after we learned that it had a pretty severe lower intake manifold gasket issue, which I learned was very common with the 3100 engines.

I really hate I had to junk it. We owned the car since 1998 and I grew to love that car. At the time this video was recorded, it wasn't idling smoothly and probably had a head gasket gone on it too as seen by the white smoke in the tailpipe. The idle was rough and it's hard to explain. The video was recorded in early summer, so ti wasn't recently.

I absolutely hate the fact that I had to get rid of it 2 months after I got it. I'm looking for another Corsica with the 3.1L V6. I miss the sound she made when I revved her up. Such a shame :'[

  • So you junked it why? I have a 3.1 in my grand am... The intake manifold gaskits went out all my coolant went into the engine... I hope to get her fixed this week. But I hope it wasn't the intake problem that made u junk her........

  • @MrStarscream88 Well, to let you know, the gasket job is NOT why it had to be junked. I did the work at school, and the gasket job was successful and stopped leaking. But before I had even bought the car, the mother drove the car all the way home (about 12 minutes) with the temp gauge maxed out (no coolant left in the cooling system) and SOMETHING was leaking oil. Needless to say I couldnt find what was pissing oil, but i assumed something serious was cracked at the front of the motor. A shame.

  • yeah the 3100 gots balls...

  • Oh I know man I love them. I admire the hell outta your Corsica man, I see your videos. I wish I still had mine, I love em.
