I just built the T-1253 kit. The tuning pots are trash... cheapest things on the market with the plastic backs which will crack under the slightest pressure. My volume control didn't work, and I had to find a real all-metal construction pot to replace it. Oddly, the PC boards are high quality, thru-plated products undeserving of the cheap componenets.

@mnpd007 Hi Tom, I also read your (KA4DQJ) product review on eham.net. I am sorry you had a bad experience with the T1253 kit. I suggest you contact Ten-Tec for replacement parts.
