From how I see it they could easily circumvent the normal 12 regenerations (13 bodies). For one, I believe they stated that at the start of the Last Great Time War, the Time Lords gave everybody a new set of regenerations. I dunno whether they added another 12 to what was left, or just "topped" up to 12. Another way is that as his is the last Tardis, it's the only one getting energy from the Eye of Rassilon, which is infinite. His Tardis could use that to help him regenerate more.

As a baby boomer who remembers Dr. Who from the early days his success comes from his ability to change with the times, from the wise old grandfather figure, to the big brother figure to a sexy snag he is today. Wonder what he'll be in the future.

The doctor may have the version of Time lord DNA that allows for immortality. The continual regeneration forever, Just like Rasilon had. That was why President Baroosa wanted the Doctor to go into the Dark Zone. So that the Doctor could get him the immortality that Rasilon had.

Yeah. I mean, every good Series needs a (if possible, illustrious) Ending for it to be really meaningful because everything goes to crap if continued long enough (star Trek, several Disney Movies, almost every FF game etc)
Plus, thirteen is an epic number.
...Of course, they could still pull some trick.
So after Matt Smith there are another 2 and then that's it?

We'll have to wait and see, but if the Master can cheat death, I know the Doctor could too. When there's a will, there's a way. Alonse!
