Thanks Camille, I never heard it in French. But in Poland it was also very popular, I remember my parents or aunts sing it with Polish words which went like "With my guitar through the world"

Der Titel wurde am 21.09.1934 aufgenommen. Es singen die Parodisters und es spielt das Orchester Otto Dobrindt. ("Eric Harden" ist nur ein Pseudonym für mehrere Orchester).

Danke SEHR shoen fur dieses info! I had no idea the recording was made that late as in 1934! It still has the sound and atmosphere of the "Weimar Berlin". As for Eric Harden - thanks for confirming I was right in my suspicion it's Dobrindt

Piekne , sluchając tego tanga skojarzyłem polski tekst, "Zaczarowana gitara" śpiewał Z. Rawicz w latach 60.

A nie masz przypadkiem na myśli innego znanego tanga z tego okresu "Chitarra romana"? (Po polsku śpiewane jako: Zakochana gitara)? Tango "Gitarren spielt auf" w moim otoczeniu śpiewano - jak pamiętam z zamierzchłych lat - z tekstem zaczynającym się od słów "Z gitarą przez świat...". Więcej nie zapamiętałem.
