it's like waking a baby up from a really nice milk-drinking dream ... except the milk is rancid and it's all about making sure the baby never cries (in outrage or denial)

Oh yeah, I heard that. Funny thing is, I hear from self-described atheist all the time about how much better the world would be without religion, but it seems they have a difficult time envisioning what such a world would even be like. Otherwise, you would have gotten plenty of on-topic submissions. We've become inseparable from the idea of God, we can't possibly tear their minds away from it, no matter how hard we try.

Dear Maso~
there were some good stories for the original CW5 (there are no Gods) but they were 'mostly' off topic. Like the writers didn't wanna even go near the subject. Wusses.

Congrats. I'm still saddened that the original theme for Chimera 5 didn't work out "there is no God you're all alone, fuckers." That was a good idea for an atho.
Maybe it's true then that atheist are, in general, uncreative people - maybe that's why you didn't get enough quality submissions in for that one. I'm not even sure who said that - about atheist - perhaps I just made that one up.
But the rejects was another good idea. Those people deserve to have their stories heard! Bravo!

Hard copies always produce a bit of euphoria for writers. I recognize Mike Philbin's giddiness at seeing the final product.
It's what I think Dickens was really thinking of when he penned, "Please, Sir, may I have some more?"

Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!
I enjoy all the Chimeraworld books and I am also a Bizarro/Ero-Guro writer. I hope to share some of my work with you one day.

Yay! My husband, Chris Reed, is in that Issue 5 -- so damn cool. Chris, if you are reading this, CONGRATS. I am proud of you.
