Kenya Power, Kenya's national electricity distribution and retail company has come up with an ingenious method to tackle illegal connections in informal settlements. The firm's Nyeri branch in partnership with the World Bank is now rolling out a subsidized electricity connection scheme to 67,000 residents from various slums in the town.And as Alex Mwangi reports, the project if successful will not only see the residents enjoy the benefits of having power in their houses, but will also see a reduction in vandalism cases.
