I dont understand the reason for chaining a dog. My dog is part of my family. Love it, and would never it leave alone and chained outside. What is the rational for having a pet and mistreating it?

Chained dogs are also totally vulnerable to other animals and cruel people, and many chained dogs have been stolen, set on fire, shot, stabbed, tortured, or poisoned by cruel passersby or neighbors who were annoyed by their barking.

Many people who acquire dogs quickly tire of them and banish them to the back yard, where they are "out of sight, out of mind." Others want a "guard" dog to bark at intruders. Many of these dogs spend their entire lives in solitary confinement—trapped at the end of a chain or confined to a pen or kennel. They suffer through frightening thunderstorms and all weather extremes and typically are denied vital medical attention and any form of friendship.

poor thing. thats why i hate poor people. they just LOVE to chain dogs up on a 3 foot chain for their entire lives to serve as cheap alarm systems or to "breed em" to make 20 bucks every once in a while. fucking trash people. Dogs are very social and need to be apart of the family.
