Please pass on to everyone that guinea pigs should not be purchased for children as pets based on this movie. Guinea pigs have special care requirements. The cedar or pine bedding used in the movie is bad for guinea pigs. Bedding like Care Fresh must be used. Guinea pigs cannot digest any alfalfa products either. They need vitamin C from foods such as parsly and bell peppers. They also need hay like Western Timothy Hay. The best place to buy pellets and hay for guinea pigs is Oxbow Products.
