Martial Artist = practitioner of warfare
Saddam Hussein is a high level martial artist. Do you look up to him?
MMA, UFC, fighting for what? A belt? Fame? Money?

Great performers. The semantics of it all can keep us arguing over what it is or is not, for eternity... Really though for what any of us do to be "martial" we'd have to be killing others. MMA is a sport, and so is ANY other art when practiced as a competition: rules = sport. W/out them it'd be murder...

Martial = warrior or military. arts= skill acquired by experience, study, or observation. "Tricking" hmm, never knew that was associated w/ M.A.
They had to add another layer of competition to freestyle karate b/c of the lack of skill and depth in their forms and fighting. Then they state that "we" should fight against an MMA guy!! Some of my students from my trad. dojo are in the MMA. 1 fights for Shamrock..us Goju guys must be doing something right!

i like that this has dilated into a whole bunch of martial artists whom are not posting about the fantasic performance of Chris Devera and Andy Nguyen. This goes to show that all if "all you so called martial artists" are arguing instead of actually regarding to the topic at hand, then none of you are martial artists.
